outstanding! this is the type of episode one is always hoping for but afraid that the writers do not have in them. i thought it was very well conceived and executed. the subject matter was honest ("i have done ... questionable things") and very much something most people can relate to. the guilt felt by pilot was of the greatest surprise to me. his relevation fit in nicely with past dialog concerning his unfamiliarity with space travel. it also explains a great deal about aeryn. this episode really served to continue rounding out aeryn and pilot's characters. no longer are they two dimensional soldier and pilot. they really do have added depth to me.

the glimpse into normal pk life (no covert special ops insertion of crichton and chiana) was very interesting. the jockeying for duty assignments, the casual promiscuity (remind anyone of huxley?), the narrow focus of attention (lest curiosity skin the proverbial cat), and the arrogant treatment of subordinates all added to a harsh portrait of pk life. i am surprised that a society like this could be self sustaining. the suppression of personality this type of society implies typically results in rebellion such as chiana's.

now i really look forward to future episodes. i know they can not all be this good, but one can hope.
