This is mostly just "rumor" stage stuff for now, I guess. Every year Dragoncon gets approached to start new fan tracks. I suppose most of them don't happen. A friend of mine has proposed an H.P. Lovecraft track and he was told it will be considered but also that a Farscape track has been proposed (I have no other information on that).

As a fan track director (I do Tolkien and Middle-earth) I don't get to see very much of the convention, but I think both these tracks would be great ideas (we have a Lovecraft message board here at Xenite.Org). Maybe there is a remote possibility both tracks would be picked up. I can't say. I'll post something here when I hear further news (probably in 1-2 months).

Unfortunately, the FARSCAPE actors might not be available for a convention appearance, and the lack of a media guest for a media fan track might weaken the proposal. Writers, producers, special effects people, etc. -- basically anyone who could present an interesting program for a room full of people -- would be a good draw for such a fan track.

I hope my friend gets his Lovecraft track, but here's hoping FARSCAPE fans won't go empty-handed, either!
