: In the Peoples of Middle-earth it gives the "Middle-earth names of the the Blue Wizards as Morinehtar (Darkness-slayer) and Rómestámo (East-helper). Which ones Alatar and which ones Pallando? I'm assuming that Morinehtar is Alatar because Darkness-slayer sounds more powerful like Alatar supposedly was. Also East-helper sounds like Pallando because from what I heard he sounded like the "helper" of Alatar. Comments appreciated.

: PS I like better what Tolkien says the Blue Wizards did in the Peoples of Middle-earth. He says they went to aid the men in the east and turn them from aiding Sauron which enabled the West to win. Because if they hadn't the East would have far outnumbered the West.

ditto. It is not exactly as authoritative a source, but in the Middle Earth Collectible Card Game, Alatar is depicted as a great hunter, sort of like Orome, while Pallando is more of a "master of peoples and fate", reminiscent of Mandos. Also Pallando means "far-wanderer" or something like that, which would seem to fit in with East-Helper more. BTW, does it say anything more about the Ithryn Luin in the Peoples of Middle Earth? (I have not read it).
