I would say that the wisest thing to do is just to assume that they are... I believe it is another of those questions with no definate answer. : NT It seems to me, from repeated readings in The Silmarillion, that the orcs were bred from captured and corrupted elves. This believe is stated in several places and is given as one of the reasons for the bitter hatred between the elves and orcs. Dave
