: : Why shouldn't there be a logical/rational/scientific explanation for magic or, for that matter, a magical/spiritual explanation for science...maybe that's pushing it. :) : : We tend to draw a line between, IMO, these very closely related topics and say that if you cross the line in one direction it's science and in the other direction it's magic/spirituality. In my view this where alot of confusion arrises. : : If, 600 or so yrs. ago, a sage/magician/wizard poured two bottles of "potion" together and it burst into flame, billowing purple and green smoke, that would have been considered magic/wizardry. Today, because we have scientific explanations for exothermic combustion reactions, it is no longer considered to be magic. : : IMO, it is just as much magic as it was then but now it has just been explained scientifically. : : If we can break down these boundries and come up with a theory that can combine both these topics we could then, I think, gain a fuller understanding on both these issues. : I guess overall I tend to agree with you that the boundaries are not there that we place there. I believe that God is the ultimate mathematician. I wouldn't say a scientist, because to Him all things are already known & a scientist's business is the unknown. But I do think He conforms to the laws of the Universe that He has set. I have seen scientific theories about God & the spirit world, relating to the reality we know. God must exist in more dimensions than the four we live in (3 spacial and one temporal). He is then able to see all of time at once, and is therefore easily able to convey a prophetic message to someone: to Him it has already happened, though to us it is future. Just as we can look into a 2D space &, for instance, change what is inside a circle (boundary) without disturbing the boundary, so He can look inside our 3D space and change things without disturbing anything else. This could account for miraculous healings, where something is healed inside without the outside of the body having to be opened. More food for thought... Very tasty food aswell!! ;) : : BTW this is really straying far now. I wonder if MM has thought about intervening. :) <<<<
