: Haven't been posting a lot the past few months, have been lurking about some, usually someone's already said what I would say by the time I get here, so I feel no need to repeat it. Seems like a lot of the old crew is gone (Stephen Geard, Martin Read), though I have seen Neithan's back and have seen Padster post some (how 'bout Old Tom?). : Anyway, I read the Chronicles of Narnia recently, and while I usually only talk about Tolkien here, this is an Inklings board and C.S. Lewis was an Inkling. I liked them a lot, they reminded me of the Hobbit to some extent. It was good to get that feeling. Of course they're children's books and easy reading (I read the SLIVER CHAIR and THE LAST BATTLE last night, after going out with friends till after 11). : If I counted all 7 as one book, I'd say it's not as good as the Hobbit, but one of two (THE DAWN TREADER and THE LAST BATTLE) were near it's equal. The only thing is that it seemed to give you what you wanted all the time, why the Hobbit and especially the Lord of the Rings seemed to have more problems. That and the Chronicles were incredibly predictable. But they were children's books and entertaining so I don't really know why I'm critiquing it. : Anyway, good to be back and good to have that Hobbitish feeling again. : Jon I just finished The Chronicles of Narnia a few days ago to. They're pretty good, although the reading level is somewhat lower. The last two were definitely the best of the series. Aldaron
