Mr. Gosar- This is an open apology to you and anyone else who is frustrated, upset, or disappointed by the fact that Mr. Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema's along with an acclaimed cast, an excellent crew, hundreds of extras and a CG shop that seems unparalled in their vision. Unfortunately, we currently have nothing to show you or anyone else about how good or bad this movie will be. A combination of this magnitude could mean great success or terrible failure of biblical proporations. The truth of the matter is that we simply don't know.

And so I appologize. I appologize for myself, for not being able to show you a finished product upon which you can base your frustrations, and I appologize for my comrades on this board, for their seeming lack of indulgence of your, and anyone else's comments regarding their lack of faith in a movie that hasn't been made yet.

It just seems to us (or at least to me) that every third week we get another comment that begins another string which leads to another set of opinions regarding something that hasn't been finished.

In addition, Mr. Jackson has revealed some plot points which deviate from the original goaspel text of Prof. Tolkien's work. I appologize for this as well. Mr. Jackson was not a genetic recreation of Prof. Tolkien, and I believe he has no designs to become one. Mr. Jackson seems of the view that he is in charge of the making of three movies based on Prof. Tolkien's epic work. He also seems to want this movie to be successful, and enjoyable to a larger audience then just we happy, happy few who have read and enjoyed the actual text.

I also must appologize for the fact that many of the members of this board, myself included, have not remained true to Prof. Tolkien, and instead seem to agree that this is simple one interpretation of the Prof. Tolkien's work, much like Ralph Bakshi's The Lord of the Rings movie. We seem to feel that even though these interpretations exist, the have not impacted the enjoyment (or lack thereof) of the original work as we read it, some of us many years ago.

Finally, I must appologize for the fact that many of this boards members, again, myself included, are not willing to take a hard stand against Mr. Jackson, and refuse to see the movie. We are interested in Mr. Jackson's interpretations, and how exactly Arwen will be portrayed, and if the cinemactic presentation will make up for the deviations from the text.

I am sorry for all this, and I appologize.

-RobRoy ;)
