: We can (without any real hoping of ascertaining the "truth" of these matters) surmise a couple of things. : 1) Isildur's sword, though of lesser lineage than Narsil, may have been preserved and revered by his heirs, but could have been lost with other heirlooms in the final war which brought down Arnor. : 2) Narsil was probably Amandil's weapon at one time. The Lords of Andunie have a curious collection of heirlooms: their sceptre (which became the sceptre of Annuminas), the ring of Barahir (why did Elros get it instead of Elrond, and why did it end up with Silmarien's descendants?), Narsil, the Elendilmir, and the Palantiri. We know the Palantiri were given to Amandil by the Eldar of Tol Eressea. The Elendilmir contained an "Elvish crystal" which had descended from Silmarien to Elendil. I believe it was either lost or was never as important as Narsil and was thus left out of the story.
