: : : : -RobRoy : : : yeah, that's true - good point : : I have already stated in other Arwen related posts that I am taking a wait and see attitude. However, there is one thing we should also consider. : : There will be one or more test screenings of the film prior to its release. Test screenings have determined the final release cut of many films. It's marketing pure and simple. If the test audience doesn't buy the expanded Arwen character, then who know what happens. The same holds true for other characters and the ending of the film. What makes it to our theater screen is anyone's guess. : : Now, how do we go about packing each test screening with Tokien purists? : Heeheehee, I think a Tolkien purist invasion at this time would be handy. I think we should write a 5 million signatured petition to the producers, nominating say, a dozen well known Tolkien Scholars to rep us, and if they like it, it floats, if they give it the big thumbs down, then it sinks. : I nominate Michael for this... : And myself of course! : Teeheehee : Either that, or you guys all come down to Wellington (I've got spare rooms...) and we can have a big sit-in down at the filming site : =) : Gandalf A petition would give away our plans. It is better that we should endevor to discover the locations and times of the test screenings. We do have informants in New Zealand. We should utilize them. We should also send informants into the Woods of Holly. After the locations have been discovered, we can secretly send numerous groups of nine purists into those locations. You, Gandalf, will lead one of the groups. At the proper moment, these groups will reveal themselves. Aelmer :)
