All of this stemmed from my original argument that the Three should have kept on Truckin' after the One died. Why are we arguing that Third age characters are lesser in stature than first age?? I was not arguing that Cirdan, Elrond, and Galadriel would stand up to Feanor, Fingolfin, and Turgon. BUT, the point that I did make was that it's not a valid conclusion that everything will fade with time. I think it's one of Tolkien's views of the world, that it's being ruined by industrialisation, and this is reflected in his writing. I am not trying to project my logic on anyone. If you understood what I meant (and not always what I write, since I am liable to goof when i write), then you would realise that logic isn't something that is inherently different in everyone. If I have good logic, then i will have good arguments. This seems illogical, maybe because I have wrong premisses, I have the wrong conclusion, but logic isn't something that's different for everyone! Logic basically means, well, the process inference from certain premisses! Anyway, i think this has gotten seriously outta hand, and i dunno what we're arguing about any more! =) So I might just end this on that note, since I cannot keep up with everything... Gandalf
