I know that I said I'd leave well enough alone. However, that was concerning ring lore. This is an entirely different subject concerning what Celebrimbor did or did not know, or do. Besides, you appeared to be gloating. Bad form for a wizard great as you. LOL :) Celebrimbor may indeed have had some doubts and looked at the knowledge that was being offered. However, he apparently didn't look very long or very hard. Again, I must state that Celebrimbor did not know the bearer of the knowledge was in fact Sauron. Others may have been mis-trustfull of this unknown stranger, and Celebrimbor may have been wary of being tricked, but tricked he was. Yes, he had great lore of his own, and this new knowledge was a way to increase his lore. However, Celebrimbor did not see the trojan horse because his desire to make something that would rival Feanor's feat prevented him from seeing it.
