: : : Gandalf : : Aragorn's will, though it was strong, could never match the will of Sauron. I agree that he 'cheated', but we have to, at least give him credit that he faced Sauron in will. I would give most of the credit though to Gandalf. : : Maedhros : : I agree : what do you mean by giving credit to Gandalf? : Gandalf Gandalf's presence in Middle Earth had distracted Sauron from the start, actually I would give the credit to all of the good Istari. When the Istari were sent to Middle Earth it says that their presence was always known to their opposition, and was very distracting. The will of Sauron was probably half as effective due to their presence. But of course, Aragorn's will was also strong, though if it were not for the presence of the Istari, Aragorn wouldn't have had a chance. Remember Ar-Pharason's will? It was much stronger than Aragorns (because the Numenorians declined after the 13th generation), yet Pharason was decieved by Sauron and fell to his side. Of course, this is but my opinnion. Maedhros
