: : did all the rulerz of Numenor have strong wills? as in like Ar-Pharason's will.. or was his will and Aragorns directly related to the The Palantir... so the kings of Numenor prior to The Palantir being made were normal? : : i know that they were perty funky people.... after all having Beren as a ancestor has to do them a lot of good :o) : : but would the use of The Palantir have increased there power of will... or only there power of will in relation to The Palantir?

: : Beren Valthôl

: I think you're confusing several things here. The Palantir were given to the faithful by the elves, and were probably made by Feanor himself. The king of Numenor did not own or use the palantir at any stage. They were used at first for the faithful to communicate with the elves.

: Secondly, the palantir do not grant their owner any powers. They are merely magical artefacts. I suppose they would work similarly to web-cams. : =)

: I hope that answers any questions you have.

: Gandalf

The Palantiri could also be used to cast shadows and spy on areas without a Palantir. It says in the back of the Sil that Feanor made them, so, who but Feanor knows all that could be done with them? I don't think they gave their users any powers, but was instead, more of a burden to them.
