There was a brief discussion about her here a few weeks ago. Queen Beruthiel's cats definitly beg comparison to Sauron and the Nazgul. I have often wondered just what Tolkien had in mind. What were Sauron and nazgul doing during the time of Queen Betuthiel? Could the cats have actually been the Big Guy and the boys in black? I would love to know more.
