: : : : : It might be the name they call it in Hobbition.. but it is quite possible to die in Valinor.. i am quite sure that Finwë could testify to that... : : : : : Once they die they go to the halls of Mandos (Halls of Awaiting? Halls of the Dead??) and live forever (? i not lore master.. anyone know any good essays on the topic?). Luthien went there when she died to beg (Sang) for Beren's (Me) life.. hence the 2 of them coming back from the dead and living at Tol Galen. : : : : : Beren Valthôl : : : : Men (and assumedly Hobbits) do not go to the Halls of Waiting; rather they go to Heaven, unlike Elves who are bound to Arda. Dwarves do go to the Halls of Waiting (except fo the Seven Fathers, who are reincarnated), and they believe that they will help Aule rebuild the world after the End. : : : : : : Dwarves wait in the Halls of Aule until the last battle. Afterwards we will help rebuild the world. : : : Thorin : : Yes, that's what I said. But I am sure it is the Halls of Mandos, not Aule. : I remember reading that this was not certain and that the Elves doubted the truth of this. I believe this is cause for some animosity between the Elves and the Dwarves. The elves say that the Dwarves have no life after death Where would the Ents go? I would guess that the Dwarves would go to Aule's version of this. Maedhros
