Perhaps I have that picture because those exiles returning after the War of Wrath went there (did they not? At least there were many there, those who kept in contact with the Numenoreans.). Though in "Namarie" Galadriel does sing that "maybe thou shalt find Valimar". : -Foradan

Well, I for one am guilty of a sloppy use of the term "Valinor" to refer to all of the lands "Overseas," since I had a thoroughly confused idea from my first readings of the LR which weren't cleared up when I read the Silm a decade later. I think you are coorect that the Noldor/Sindar were restricted to Eressea. The Hobbits, being anamolies - mortals only there temporarily for healing - who can say where they dwelt, though I'd imagine any true healing would be more efficacious (sp?) in Valinor proper, though which Vala was the high healer is beyond my level of expertise.
