It is hard to judge wether a orc could be redeemed per say when compared to Gollum.. Gollum was one single person that was under the effects of the one ring. Where as orcs have a whole society of other orc's just as evil as each other.. so anyone seen to go soft would be out cast and the othe races would never accept a orc, so the orc would soon return to its former ways.

Also due to orcs having the elves ability for a long life.. in some cases that is 5000 yrs of evil life.. i would find it hard for any orc that was that old or even half that old being converted to good.

Also it was not only the mentality of the Orcs that Morgoth, Sauron and Saruman changed.. it is also there appearence.. it unlike gollum is not just age.. the whole orc phyisilogy is different to elves. so even if one did get converted back they would constantly be reminded of there past.

i think that the only way for a orc to be redeemed would be when they went to the Halls of Awaiting when they died.. if they were still allowed to go there. They would be free of there "doctored" bodies (?) and would be much the same as the other elves there..

u never know they might sit around playing cards with Feanor for ever :o)
