doesn't it say somewhere that soon after he had the ring people started to stop liking him coz he kept playing tricks on him etc.

but what about this theroy for his hidding.

A few things in the movment of the Ring and Sauron happen at the same time.

The ring gets lost for 2500 years... about the same length of Time that Saruon was a body less spirit. Gollum finds the ring and goes and hides under the mountains at the about the same time as Sauron Returned to Tol Guldur. Biblo gets the ring from Gollum and takes it away from the misty mountains about the same time as Sauron flees to Mordor.

now it seems to me that the ring not only controls its own pass.. i. in falling of fingers at the most opertune times... but it also does things at the same time as Sauron. i think the power of the ring over its surroundings is oftern made smaller then it actully is.. i used to not like Boromir coz of what happened with Frodo.. but i recently read "The treason of Isengard" and now i am sure that Boromir was more then not just himself.. i think it was all the ring.. sure the ring might have used his own desire to make Gondor succed in the War against Sauron.. but it is completly out of character.. not the ring bending its his character.
