Again, the story told by John Smith was just not true. Not that women didn't have the power to have done such a thing, but that it just didn't happen that way. And there were NO princesses then, nor now, in the Native American communities. There were Clan Mothers, the eldest women of each of the extended families, who had great clout. But no royalty, such as that term implies.
