  Debates rage on the meaning of the shape of this alien artifact. Is the shape related to its function? Or, is it symbolic? If so, is it connected to an Earth symbol of a cross?
  
  Since scientists do not know the function, they cannot determine how the shape might contribute to it. Functionally, most likely, it is related to being an antennae. But that is only speculation.
  
  If symbolic, did the aliens learn of this Earthly religious symbol? Or, is there a more universal symbolic meaning of this shape?

  Is this something that was actually observed, perhaps by Cassini? I can't find any report of a cruciform object being observed on Titan. Or is it fiction?

  What about an "x" style cross?
  
  I imagine these simple geometrical shapes would appear in other (non-terrestrial) civilizations over time simply because they are easy to construct and can be used in many ways.
  
  How would humanity react based on the cross' shape? What if it's an upside-down "t" style cross? That would be more like a dagger pointing to the sky.
  
  Need it be a huge structure (like a massive building or ship) or just an artifact large enough to be found during a survey?

  I imagined it as a "t" shape cross so it would resemble a Christian cross.
