8 Science Fiction and Fantasy Books That Deserve a Screen Adaptation
The 8 books are:
- The Warrior’s Apprentice, Lois McMaster Bujold
- Kushiel’s Dart, Jacqueline Carey (Kushiel’s Legacy)
- The Caves of Steel, Isaac Asimov (The Robot Series)
- Daggerspell, Katharine Kerr (Deverry Cycle)
- All Systems Red, Martha Wells (The Murderbot Diaries)
- His Majesty’s Dragon, Naomi Novik (Temeraire)
- Dragonflight, Anne McCaffrey (Dragonriders of Pern)
- Magic’s Pawn, Mercedes Lackey (The Last Herald-Mage)
If I recall correctly, the Robot series is loosely connected to Asimov's
Foundation universe. Many of his future science fiction novels and short stories were intended to be set in that universe.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Pern books brought to the big screen, but they are based on such a ridiculously bad bit of physics (the
thread lifeforms passing through space from a planet that orbits near Pern every 200 years for about 50 years) that they should come up with a new explanation for the conflict.
