He was 71 years old and apparently had suffered from cancer for a while. I'm sorry to hear about his passing. He was a great actor, in my opinion (and many other people's opinions, I'm sure).

He played Secretary Ross in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also appeared as John Robinson in Lost In Space (which I actually enjoyed but I guess I was one of the 5 people on the planet who actually liked it).

The first role that pops into my mind was of the military detective in Gorky Park. Strange because I don't think it needed great acting like some of his other roles.

I loved Gorky Park. I'd say that was one of his more memorable roles/films for a generation. Not sure many people under 30 would be familiar with it today, but I've always felt it held up well over the years. It helped to humanize the people of the Soviet Union for Americans.
