Obi-Wan: My Initial Thoughts

My wife and I watched the first 3 episodes last week. We liked some of it. I didn't like some of it. She seemed to like it better than me.
I've seen some headlines on the Web about fan reactions to the show but, honestly, I'm not interested in following all the drama. Star Wars fans seem to have a broken compass. They constantly mock the Storm Troopers for being terrible shots and adore the Jedi, but it was Storm Troopers who killed the Jedi. So, go figure.
I thought young Leia was cute but unless someone wipes her memory before she grows up, they'll have to take us through some convoluted logic to explain how Leia didn't know she had met Obi-Wan as a child. So far I don't think they've created any paradox with her life story. They just need to pay close attention to what happened in the movie.
That said, I'm surprised at how Obi-Wan behaved when the other Jedi came looking for him. That's all I'll say, in case anyone reading this doesn't want any spoilers. But I'll concede that with the passing of the years, Obi-Wan's perspective could certain mature in new directions. He's been deprived of the fellowship of the Jedi, so basically Jedi culture is no more. The lack of that cultural support might explain how Obi-Wan (and "old Luke Skywalker" in the Disney films) drifts away from the enthusiasm of the pre-Empire Jedi.
I do like how these shows maintain visual consistency with the George Lucas productions. I guess that's to be expected but usually when "Hollywood" passes the torch to a new production team, they redesign everything. Disney did toss out the old Lucasian canon on many storylines and characters (at first - now they seem to be retconning things back into consistency with some of those old storylines?).
Anyway, I'm not enough of a Star Wars buff to care about inconsistencies in the minutiae, but I do care about how the shows look and feel when compared to the sets and gadgets of the movies.
Will continue watching the show, although I'm not setting any alarms to remind me of when new episodes air.
