Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Michael's thoughts

Can't say I want to write a lengthy review of this movie. I was very disappointed with it. Frankly, I was deeply disappointed with it.
Although I'm not the biggest Sam Raimi fan, I've enjoyed a number of his movies. But this one just didn't work for me. I'll say I did enjoy Bruce Campbell's cameo, including the final post-credits scene.
I think the problem for me was that the story just didn't feel like a Dr. Strange story to me. I base that on a childhood/adolescence of reading old Dr. Strange comic books in the 1970s. I don't know how well Sam stuck to the character from more recent decades.
The horror aspects of the film, one of Sam's trademarks, didn't work for me. They felt pushed and gimmicky, like he was sneaking something into the MCU that wasn't supposed to be there.
Nor did I find the story very interesting. Leading up to the movie's release, we've been teased with multiverse drama but I didn't feel like we were really following along the path laid down by previous productions. And the entire Scarlet Witch storyline lost me, as it wasn't consistent with the Scarlet Witch character I knew from my comic book days.
I know that Wanda Maximoff's character evolved into madness after I stopped reading the comics, so I'm not suggesting the movie didn't do justice to her storyline. But the movie itself didn't work for me.
