  The first Wonder Woman movie was an amazing success. It was a bright, positive DC movie that told an interesting character story. Wonder Woman 2 wasn't quite as well-received, but it did well enough that they were going to make a 3rd movie.
  
  But now it turns out that Patty Jenkins has left the franchise over creative differences with the studio, and it seems her departure triggered the decision to kill the last movie.

  Too bad, she did a great job in the first two movies.

  I haven't tried to follow the story too closely so I don't want to point fingers, but it does seem like bringing James Gunn in to run the DC film universe is forcing the franchise to undo a lot of long-term plans.
  
  And as someone who just absolutely hated most of the DC movies, I'm not too upset. But I was kind of hoping to see what Patty would do with the 3rd Wonder Woman movie (that now won't be made at all, I think).

  I haven't followed it too closely, but I think it's more of a "I'm walking away to save face" kind of thing, as it seems like James Gunn is pretty much wiping all previous plans, as Michael noted. That may be good, but there were some interesting possibilities with Michael Keaton coming back as Bruce Wayne that we'll probably not see now, unfortunately. Also, I think they wanted The Flash to be a big part of their universe, and the actor that plays him is having all sorts of legal issues of late, so that may have tilted them towards starting over, too.
