For this generation, most likely those days are over. But I hope we get to see another giant franchise again (done well, of course).

There's a really good JoBlo WTF Happened to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Lots of problems, but I do think that the script was the biggest issue, and perhaps the fact that Connery had passed on LOTR and backed this. Might not have gotten as big a budget if not for his name:
