  What old actors or actresses that are dead, would have been good in current movies? I think that Shirley Temple would have made an interesting Anne Frank in her teenage years instead of starring in the Bachelor and bobbysoxer.

  Humphrey Bogart could have been a great villain in almost any modern action flick, without the expectation that he would engage in martial arts. We have too many super villains who engage in hand-to-hand combat with the hero (only to get their butts kicked).
  
  Errol Flynn would have been a great smarmy rich guy who gets his comeuppance.
  
  James Mason would still be a great scientist in almost any type of story.

  Kirk Douglas could have taken on a lot of great roles in modern movies. I think he and Robert Downey Jr. would have had fantastic screen chemistry together.

  Johnny Weissmuller as Captain America or Superman.
  
  Peter Ustinov as Daredevil's Foggy Nelson.
  
  And you'd have to find something for Peter Lorre. Not sure what would be a good fit. Maybe Peter Quill/Starlord?
