While I'm not a big Chritsopher Nolan fan, it does look better than Fat Man and Little Boy, which I found to be immensely boring. As for my take on Professor Oppenheimer, I guess he did his job. My father was scheduled to participate in the 2nd wave of the Japanese invasion, so Oppenheimer and friends probably saved his life. They were expecting 80% casualties in the 1st wave.
